Description

K-TUNED B/D Series Shifter

Application: B and D Series Engines

Shortly after the release of our Billet RSX Shifter we started to receive several inquiries about making a similar shifter for the B and D series engines. At first we were a little hesitant, but after some thought, we remembered that we actually made a prototype several years ago. So we got it out, made a few changes, and produced a couple more prototypes for testing and feedback purposes. Testing went very well and the response to our photos was also excellent so we decided it was time to make this product available.

The K-Tuned B & D Series Shifter was designed with full adjustability in mind. The shifter pivot ball is height adjustable, shifter height is adjustable and the offset elbow of the shifter can be rotated to several different positions. The adjustable pivot ball allows the user to thread the pivot ball higher up on the shift rod to shorten shift throw if desired. Construction is as expected, only high quality materials are used to ensure the shifter will last. We used 100% stainless steel with the lone exception being the offset elbow, which is made from billet aluminum. All hardware, spacers and allen keys for adjustment are included in our kit. This is a great shifting upgrade for any B or D series engine setup.

The B/D Shifter comes complete with all hardware and two allen keys that are used for adjustments. For hardware the kit includes 7 pieces: M8 x 55mm bolt x 1, M8 nylock nut x 1, M8 washers x 2, stepped aluminum spacers x 2, straight aluminum spacer x 1 Installation of the K-Tuned Shifter is very straight forward. It is installed in the B/D shift linkage just like the oem unit so pay close attention during removal how things are assembled. Also note that because our shifter is adjustable in throw, be sure to test fit the shifter and make sure there is adequate clearance for the exhaust running below the shifter. We recommend that a minimum 1/4” gap be left between the bottom of the shifter and the exhaust piping. If there is less than this amount, contact between the shifter and the exhaust can occur. NOTE: Loctite should be used on the shift ball set screw to keep it from coming loose. It may be required to remove and cut the bar connected to the knob if set too low and it interferes with the center console.
